Friends and Family – What a Gift!

I am so blessed with wonderful friends. Since I left Rich Dad I have had an outpouring of good wishes and support from my incredible friends and family. It is truly what life is all about. We all spend so much time driving ourselves forward and working, working, working, that we miss so much along the way.

There were three significant events in my life that made me look closely at my life and what my true goals and passions were.

First, I lost my father in January of 2006. He was my hero and close friend. Immediately after his death, I consumed myself with “Taking care of arrangements for my family and handling things.” It took months for me to realize that I had never allowed myself to grieve for my father. Then in December, I became very ill for weeks and realized that I was not taking good care of myself (and I am still working on improving that).

But, then the magic happened.

In January, my oldest son Phillip and his wife Angela gave us the gift of a beautiful grandson, Dylan Michael Lechter. Not only is he a wonderful little boy, but the greater gift was seeing my son turn into an incredible father. Not to mention seeing Michael (grandpa) revert to a little boy when playing with his grandson.

All of these events had a profound impact of me and “woke me up” about what is truly important in life. I love teaching children and families about money and that is what I want to focus on. I love my family and friends. They complete me. It truly is what life is about. Thank you!

  1. Thank you Sharon for all that you have done to teach me and my children about money and finance. I missed you at Rich Dad, and I’m glad I found you. Now my family and me can continue to grow, learn and develop a sound financial future.
I too am a teacher and I plan to learn as much as I can about money so that I can not only teach my own kids but my students as well.
